New flat roof
We completely stripped back an existing felt roof covering and removed the existing deteriorated insulation. Once fully stripped we thoroughly impacted the roof for any water penetration.
Water ingress on the roof can sometimes be hard to detect, especially if it is coming in cracks in the flashing on a parapet wall, or if the rendering or brickwork needs attention.
Rendering the wall can be an option if the brickwork has begun to weather and fail. If the bricks on the parapet wall are still in good condition and the mortar joints are soft and can be raked out, these can then be repointed using a 3:1 cement mix. Check the coping stones are still in good condition, the lip is over both sides of the walls so water is not running down the walls, if water is reaching the walls, the coping stones may need replacing or re-cementing in place. The lead flashing on the parapet walls can also crack and need to be re-sealed of replaced, a thorough roof inspection will pick up any small areas where water can get into the loft space or the room below.

Installed the first week in March 2024 on a rear extension at a domestic property in Arnos Grove, London N14.
We completed a new roof last week in Finchley, North London for Hodgson & Sons Limited, this is a loft conversion, which includes a new bathroom, bedroom and dressing room. The client chose a Redland rosemary mixed clay tile for their reroof, which compliments the anthracite aluminium cladding on the dormer.
The tiles were supplied by JJ Roofing Supplies in Cricklewood, one of the roofing partners we work closely with.
