Removal of a chimney stack

Removing the internal chimney breast from your property can leave you with the issue of what to do with the chimney stack above the roof, our team of roofers can take that chimney stack off the roof, level it down and re-tile or re-slate the roof once all the bricks and pots have been removed from the property.

Sometimes a chimney is exposed to the elements more than the rest of the property and the bricks and mortar can deteriorate at a faster rate. Eventually, it is safer and more economical to remove the chimney stack rather than to keep renovating the stack.

Most modern homes no longer use fireplaces and the chimney becomes redundant and removal is the most cost-effective option.

Capping, repointing and flaunching the chimney stack

Roof surveys often pick up issues with the chimney, our team of roofers have a track history of successful renovations of Chimney stacks, this can include repointing the chimney stack, flaunching the top of the chimney, where the mortar has become cracked and is letting water in, and capping to prevent water and birds from accessing the chimney. Finding a leak in your property where the chimney breast is located is usually the first sign the chimney needs to be investigated.

Re-roof – Rear Dormer Structure

We completed a new roof last week in Finchley, North London for Hodgson & Sons Limited, this is a loft conversion, which includes a new bathroom, bedroom and dressing room. The client chose a Redland rosemary mixed clay tile for their reroof, which compliments the anthracite aluminium cladding on the dormer.
The tiles were supplied by JJ Roofing Supplies in Cricklewood, one of the roofing partners we work closely with.
